Hunting culture at its best in the Arlberg region
Nature experience of a different kind - Hotel Haldenhof
Early risers can experience the fresh, early morning in the hunting area, the sunrise in the midst of the mountains and the awakening of alpine nature. For our passionate hunter Sen. Hubert Schwärzler, nurture and care were paramount. Without responsible hunting, there would also be chaos in the forest. We are happy to show you which important tasks are associated with the role of hunter – it is not just a hobby. Game feeding and game viewing, the ibex on the Formaletsch mountain, chamois along the Green Ring, playful marmots, trout in the Lech river, the courtship of black grouse and red deer.

Wind down after a great day in the Arlberg forests with a special evening menu. Our kitchen team around Hansjörg Brandstätter will conjure up culinary delights for you from regional specialities and products from the local hunt.
Trophies are an integral part of hunting culture and tradition, and they are given a place of honor here at Haldenhof. Yet, they are much more than mere decoration: each piece tells its own exciting story, just like every picture in our house. In this way, the spirit of our father, grandfather, professor, and pioneer Hubert Schwärzler lives on in the halls of Haldenhof. To Hubert, hunting was far more than a craft – it was a way of life, deeply rooted in respect and mindfulness. As a hunter, he cared for, observed, and protected the forests and their inhabitants with reverence. This awareness and love for nature were values he joyfully passed on to his children, grandchildren, friends, and guests.
While no active hunting is practiced at Haldenhof today, the respect for this tradition and the values it embodies are ever-present. They remind us daily to live in harmony with nature and to cherish its beauty.
